Daniel Booby Gibson

Boss Mann Family, we introduce to you Daniel Gibson Sr.
Daniel is a former NBA player who spent seven seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavaliers selected him in the second round of the 2006 draft.
Before we talk about his professional accomplishments, let’s share with you a little bit about his childhood and who inspired him to be the man he is today.
Daniel “Booby” Gibson’s parents, Byron and Cheryl Gib-son showed him real love and dedication, at a young age he admired the hard work his parents put in by working from dawn to dusk. Coming from SouthPark in Houston, TX, life wasn’t easy being a kid, it was a crime metro-polis where drugs overflowed the community, and it was easy to get in trouble. Fortunately, Booby relied on his Grandma, she was able to feed the beast he became in life by nurturing his confidence. Booby’s Grandma let him know that he would grow up to be something special, fast forward, he shined in the NBA as a professional basketball player.

Daniel’s nickname “Booby” originated from his Grand-ma, it was not supposed to be something to keep into adulthood, Booby’s friends also started calling him Booby after a character from the movie “Friday Night Lights.” Booby would keep the nickname going into his NBA career. After his Grandma deceased before his first game in the NBA, he decided to embrace his nickname truly. Booby felt it honored his Grandma each time someone called him by his nickname. Daniel went on to tell Boss Mann magazine that he encourages people to call him Booby and not to feel bad because he is proud of the name his Grandma gave him, plus it also keeps her name alive.
